11th Biennial of European Towns and Town Planners
Dublin 14-16 October 2015

On behalf of the European Council of Spatial Planners - Conseil Européen des Urbanistes (ECTP-CEU) and the local organising committee, the Irish Planning Institute, we invite you to become involved in the leading European spatial planning conference of 2015. Making Cities Work – Technology in Planning Practice represents the 11th Biennial of Towns and Town Planners which takes place in the Printworks, Dublin Castle, from the 14th - 16th October 2015.

The Biennial will focus on presenting and exploring new technologies in urban planning practice and examine specific projects where these technologies have been used. With over 45 expert speakers and projects, the Biennial offers a unique opportunity to improve the skills and knowledge of planners and built environment professionals across Ireland and internationally through showcasing leading developments and projects in sectors such as urban mobility, mapping and information systems, city leadership and governance and sustainable energy. These are relevant to all of us interested in creating the smart, innovative and intelligent cities and regions of tomorrow.

Through practical workshops, plenaries and internationally renowned keynote speakers such as James Mary O’Connor, Colette Maloney, Dr Hugh Ellis, Prof. Rob Kitchin and Martin Powell, the Biennial will identify and demonstrate technology applications in planning practice, familiarise planners with the use of technology applications, enhance professional practice skills in urban planning and develop professional leadership and practice management skills. Additionally the Dublin City Chief Executive will outline his vision for making Dublin (Ireland’s capital city) a Smarter City. Registered so far include attendees from Local Authorities, politicians, planning consultancies and professionals from across Ireland, the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, New Zealand and North America.
